2011 Women of Faith

As members of a blogger review program, we we had an opportunity to attend the 2011 Women of Faith event in Sacramento California. The theme for this 2-day event- Over the Top -is about God’s love for you.

The panel of speakers included Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Lisa Welchel, Sandi Patti, Mandisa, Amy Grant, Selah, Nichole Johnson and Andy Andrews. To see the full line-up of speakers, click here.

We asked Tiffany Tempke, a pastor’s wife and church planter in Sacramento, to attend the event and report back on her experience. Here is our interview with  Tiffany:

What was your first impression when you arrived at the event?

It was my first time at Women of Faith and I was surprised at how many women were there, I had no idea it was such a huge event. There were so many walks of life represented. Everything was organized so well.

What did you enjoy most about the event?

The downtime…I was just there, no kids, no responsibilities, no pressure…just me. I loved the feeling of so many women in one place with one goal, to be refreshed by Gods Presence. I was also so excited to hear Selah…they are one of my favorites. Patsy Clairmont was awesome!!

Which speaker had the most impact on your faith as a result of attending this event?

Probably Lisa Welchel…she talked about so many things that are so relative in my life right now…Stay at Home Mom…desiring connection through friendship. Real Friendship, not shallow acquaintance. Being a Pastors wife, and a Mom to my four children, I find that I feel isolated many times. So busy and not enough time for myself to really connect. I am surrounded by people, and somehow still find myself feeling lonely. One thing that really stood out to me, is when she talked about being transparent vs. being Vulnerable. When you are transparent you let people into your life, and even into your home, but when you are vulnerable, you let people into your heart.

Was there anything that frustrated or bothered you?

 Nope.

Would you recommend the event to a friend? why or why not?

Yes, it was a really great time. The speakers were relative, even entertaining. The music was great. The fellowship was relaxing. The overall experience was very refreshing. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Our thanks to Women of Faith for the complimentary tickets and for bringing this church planter’s wife into a weekend of fellowship and learning. To find a Women of Faith event near you, click here.

Thank you to Tiffany Tempke for sharing your story with us!

I would love to go to one of these. There are two coming Aug. 2012 to downtown Indianapolis, but the tickets are almost sold out. So I am praying I can still attend. I am so happy you made it and had fun.
