Womens Online Bible Study Two Year Anniversary
It’s amazing to me that I started blogging just two years ago, and a small passion has evolved into an international womens ministry. When I wrote my first blog post in July 2009 and decided to lead an online bible study, I had no idea I’d be a ministry leader with 18,000+ followers on Twitter and 2,000+ blog subscribers from around the world. We’re listed in Google as number one for “womens bible study” and have built a reputation for our ministry.
My guiding verse has been John 3:30 NIV “He must become greater; I must become less.” When I look at the success of the Womens Bible Café I know this is God’s success, not mine. We’re celebrating an anniversary of His blessing and praying for His continued favor as we lead women in online bible studies.
We’ve had women from around the world participate in our online bible studies. Some are moms, grandmothers and college students. Some are single women, married women, separated or divorced women. We’ve had sisters in different states study online together, and mothers study with their daughters away at college. As we gather together we know that together we share a common interest: we’re all Daughters of the King.
As we read and discuss scripture together, we celebrate our Christian faith and grow in bible knowledge. Some women are new Christians, a few have been deep into the Word, while others were raised in the church from birth. Some women are pastor’s wives and others are working in international ministry. We’ve got working women, homeschool moms, retired women, college students and women in financial need. We’re a reflection of God’s children- and we gather together at the table to read His Word.
Thank you to each woman who has participated and made our bible studies depth-filled. You inspire us with your comments, your continued participation and your covering of prayers.
Thank you to our pastor friends, Twitter friends, Facebook Friends, church friends, worship leaders and authors- all who’ve promoted us with their tweets and posts.
Thank you to Pam Case, Shannon Barr, Bridget Haymond, Marie Wikle, Pastor Mike and Richard Mayhan for contributing their ideas and time.
Thank you to Linda at Ekko Web Solutions for keeping our site updated and beautiful.
Thank you to Darren Rowse for publishing the book Problogger which helped me to create this site.
Thank you to Debbie Alsdorf for the book A Different Kind of Wild. When I read it I remember asking God “you’re not going to make me lead a women’s bible study, are You?” He did… and He equipped me for it.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed- God has answered.
