More than 700+ women participated in our last online bible study and we need your feedback on the small groups. Last week we sent out a survey and few women responded, so we’re making our plea once again. Here is the email we sent:
We’ve been leading online bible studies since 2009 and I’ve enjoyed the experience of seeing women spend time in scriptures. In order to make our bible studies more effective, I’m asking for your feedback on the Lies Women Believe and Breaking Free online study. It’s the second time we’ve used small groups and we’d like to measure their effectiveness through this 6-question survey. Even if you did not complete the study, please help the Womens Bible Cafe improve our ministry by responding to the questions. Three new online bible studies for women are beginning April 2012 at the Womens Bible Cafe. We’re excited to study the bible using workbooks by Jennifer Rothschild, Mary Kassian and Pat Layton. These online bible studies for women will last from 6 to 8 weeks. We’ll learn about God’s imprint on our lives as we study Fingerprints of God by Jennifer Rothschild. We’ll learn about God our Father as we study Knowing God by Name by Mary Kassian. And we’ll learn about healing from abortion as we study Surrendering the Secret by Pat Layton. Prayerfully consider which of the three new bible studies would be best for you.
We had more than 700+ women participating in the last online bible study here at the Womens Bible Cafe! It was a struggle to organize everyone into “small groups” for fellowship and personal growth because we didn’t have enough small group leaders. This time we have 40-50 small group leaders…allowing more interaction via email. You MUST register for the study April 30, 2012 in order to be included in a small group. Your on-time registration allows the small group leader to facilitate discussions based on the reading materials. If you register late and fall behind the group, the entire group will lose energy from a lack of participation and unity. Please support the small group leaders by registering by April 30.
You’ll be reading at home each week from your workbook. Fingerprints of God and Knowing God by Name include 5 daily lessons, about 30 minutes a day. Surrendering the Secret involves one long lesson per week. Some of studies include video sessions available for download from Lifeway.com and they’re optional for online bible study due to the cost. If you cannot afford all the videos then consider joining a friend in the study, splitting the cost and watching the videos together at home with a cup or coffee or tea. Another suggestion is to watch just a few of the sessions….half or one-third…this will cut down the cost. We always recommend watching the first video session because it introduces you to the author, sets the tone and structure for the study and “launches” the bible study. It’s always good!
In order to grow spiritually in bible study, your participation in the group discussion is important. Each week on Monday we’ll have online discussions via this website. We post a summary of the week’s lesson and a few questions for our discussion. Your small group leader will facilitate a discussion by email. There is not a set time to meet online….come to the Bible Cafe or reply to the group discussions as your schedule permits.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
