hosea6Welcome back to the final week of our Summer Online Bible study on the book of Hosea! Congratulations, you committed, stuck through it and now we are at the end of our journey through Hosea.

What a wonderful way to end our study on God’s Love for us.  We learned that He had chosen us and that He loves us no matter what.  We were brought back full circle this week, being reminded that God is the ultimate parent, who will never give up on us.  Because we are His loved, His chosen, His redeemed.  Joy overcomes me when I think about how God will never, ever, ever give up on me.  He will never, ever, ever stop loving me. Little ol’ me, flaws and all.

My big take away from this week was “seeking God with my whole heart.” WOW.  I don’t know about but I thought my heart was 100% committed to God. But when I really stopped, and thought about it, my whole heart relationship could use a tune up.  I certainly didn’t want God to pull back from our relationship because I wasn’t being loyal to Him.  So for me, I began with my praise and worship, giving God my full praise.  Giving God my full attention during study, really committing to cultivating my relationship with Him and becoming more intimate and committed.  What a blessing to become like a deer panting for water when it comes to wanting to know more about God!

God is so amazing.  The depths of His love for us is unimaginable.  Just as a surgeon must cut us to heal us, God does the same with us.  But why do we sometimes not realize that we are being healed but instead think God is punishing us?   Memories of times when God did just that for me came flooding back, and you know what I discovered?  I have been restored!

These last five weeks have been such a wonderful time of re-discovery of God’s love for me.  I have re-claimed my identity in Him, who chose me, who loves me, who redeems me.  And you have too my fellow Gomer Girl!

I leave you with this statement from the study, “You are worth the cost of this redemption to me.  I will always see you as beautiful for you are mine.  I will always think of you as lovable because I love you.  Cease striving to find your place, my precious Gomer; you are already found in me.” (page 153)

Remember, God’s unfailing Love never disappoints.  Remember, God’s unfailing Love covers all.  Remember God’s unfailing Love is all we need.

You are so Loved!

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

You will have the opportunity to share your answers to these questions during your small group time.  You may also post them here.  Consider also recording your answers in your spiritual journal.

QUESTION 1: What does seeking God with your whole heart look like for you? What do you do to seek Him with your whole heart? How do others see you?

QUESTION 2: Let’s do a soul inventory.  Do you invest/spend more time in your religious activities for God or in your relationship with God? How does either impact your relationship with God? What do you need to change?

QUESTION 3: In our lesson we learned that God both wounds and heals us.  Thinking about this, what is the greatest affliction/wound that God has allowed or placed in your life?  How has/was that affliction/wound been part of a greater healing for you?

QUESTION 4: Read this statement from our lesson: “You are worth the cost of this redemption to me. I will always see you as beautiful for you are mine.  I will always think of you as lovable because I love you.” (page 153)  How does reading this make you feel? How will this impact your relationship with God going forward?

QUESTION 5: What one thing do you value most or will you take away from this study of Hosea?

My Sisters, I have enjoyed this six weeks of study with you, remember, You are one God chose and loves! (page 8)
