We’re excited to begin a new study at the Womens Bible Cafe. More than 500 women have registered for the Nehemiah online Bible study. As a reminder, you will need the book Nehemiah by Kelly Minter in order to participate. The video sessions are optional due to the cost.
With so many women participating in the study, we often receive the exact same questions. So here’s a summary of the most common questions and answers we receive before starting a new Bible study:
New! Do we need to answer the questions Beth Moore asked?
Yes, you will get an email from your small group leader this week with the questions. Your small group leader will then post the group answer on Beth Moore’s blog.
New! When and where do the live chats meet?
To see the schedule of live chats- click here
New! Who is my small group leader?
She will introduce herself to the group as soon as all the women have joined the study.
How come I do not have a small group?
You registered late, or your email address bounced. If you just registered, please allow 24 hours before you are assigned to a small group. To register again- click here
What small group am I in?
Check your email and your spam folder to see if you received a small group assignment. If you are using Outlook, you need to login to your gmail or yahoo main account (not Outlook) and check the filtered spam. We sent 500+ emails with small group assignments…so it will appear as spam in your mailbox. If you still don’t have a small group assignment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Why was I placed into two small groups?
If you registered twice, or you are using two different emails, you may have been placed into two different small groups. Simply reply to one of your groups and ask to be removed from the mailing list.
Do I have to be in a small group?
No, small groups are optional.
What time and where do we meet?
Once a week on Tuesday, come to this website and you’ll see an update and group discussion for the week. If you subscribe by email, you will get a reminder in your email on Tuesday morning with a link to the article. We have live chats via Facebook at different times during the week.
Do I have to be in the Facebook group?
No, the live Facebook chats are optional.
Which website should I visit during the Summer Bible Study, yours or Beth Moore’s?
Both. Beth will update every 2 weeks, and we update once a week. We will provide links to Beth’s blog and encourage you to visit and read her updates.
Where do I answer group questions?
Each week we post 3-4 discussion questions on our website. They are not always the same questions as the ones in the book.
Do I need to participate in the group discussions?
It is beneficial to your study and spiritual growth when you participate. The enemy will convince you that your words don’t matter. We know from leading more than 5,000 women in bible study that those women who participate are the ones who have a deeper relationship with God. Often the women who do not participate in the discussions or small groups are the women most likely to drop out out and not complete the study. Make the choice to participate…it’s for your benefit.
Where are the videos?
The videos are available for purchase from www.Lifeway.com We do not show them here as it would violate copyright laws and the work of the authors.
Do I need the book to participate?
Yes, it is required for this study.
What if I need to go on vacation during this study?
Bring your book and Bible with you.
What if I fall behind in my reading?
Pray and ask yourself why you fell behind. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you where your heart is in relation to learning scripture. You are responsible for your own spiritual growth and need to become a self-feeder, craving the Word of God. Don’t choose an online Bible study just because no one is watching you. God sees..and He knows your heart.
What if I have spiritual warfare while trying to do this Bible study?
You will have spiritual warfare, it’s almost guaranteed. As you draw closer to the LORD, Satan will do his best to put a wedge between you and your study. We know that scripture is armor against the enemy…so he will distract, discourage and deceive you during this study. We encourage you to pray with your small groups and ask others to intercede. Post a prayer request on pur Prayer Wall and we have a team of women who will be praying for you.
How do I get a photo next to my name when I post a comment?
Go to www.gravatar.com and set a photo for your email address, it’s free.
I’m sure you will have more questions…so feel free to ask.
Welcome to online Bible study!
