Beautifully Gifted by Angela Bisignano is a journey into the higher calling for today’s woman. Many women are on a journey to discover their personal gifts and this book is a useful tool. If you’ve asked the question “what’s my calling?” or “how can I serve God?’ then you may want to examine this book.
The book is divided into three sections: The Inquiry: A Passionate Calling, The Discovery: Clarifying Giftedness and The Application: Living Out Your Calling. The first section looks at how God has called other women, and references examples from scripture. In the middle section, you discover the importance of having an identity centered on Jesus. The final section helps you discover your spiritual gifts and apply them as you are called by God. At the end of each chapter you’ll find study questions, reflection, life application and prayer.
As I read through Beautifully Gifted, I imagined how wonderful it would be to go away on a quiet retreat alone with Angela’s book. Each chapter is a journey of discovery and personal growth, and at times it had elements of life coaching. Imagine spending a few days in retreat, discovering your gift and calling! My favorite chapter was about spiritual gifts. I was also empowered by the lesson on turning points- both personal and spiritual- and found the exercise very informative. This book will journey into the center of your heart.
