New Bible Study- Living Beyond Yourself Starts Sept 14

We’ll start a new womens online bible study on September 14, 2010 and we’ll be reading Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruits of the Spirit by Beth Moore. This is a 10-week bible study ending the last week of November, then we’ll study the life of Jesus in December. For a list of all scheduled studies, please click here.

About the Workbook

Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of The Spirit – Member Book by Beth Moore provides a personal study experience five days a week  of this in-depth women’s Bible study of the fruit of the Holy Spirit as presented in the book of Galatians. Beth walks participants through each trait listed in the fruit and encourages women to know the freedom of a Spirit-filled life. Through this study participants will look at the supernatural aspects of the fruit and that you cannot grow, learn, or produce the fruit on your own. Beth challenges you to develop the fruit by maintaining an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. A Spirit-filled life truly results in living beyond yourself. (source: Lifeway.com)

Audio CD’s are available to purchase if you want the entire teaching of the study, or you can purchase individual MP3 sessions for those sessions that you want study deeper. Because of the expense of the audio sessions, they are optional though highly recommended.

  1. Kellie Vincent says:

Hi. My name is Kellie Vincent and I’m from Atlanta, GA. I am brand new to the online bible study, but I am very excited about it. My schedule is crazy like a lot of you, I am a mother to 2 small boys (3 and 2), wife to a busy pilot, and a CPA with a new job. Needless to say God gets me through everything. I am looking forward to this course and growing closer to God through this type of devotion. I also hope I can meet some new online friends through the process. As far as the reality show, I am fully involved with Big Brother right now so that would be my vote. I think it’s neat to see how others react with each other stuck in a house and given a lot of competition – oh yeah with a lot of cameras around to catch all the action.

With a busy family schedule, the absolute BEST time to study in in the morning before they wake. Set your alarm, get your coffee or tea drink, and enjoy the alone time and intimacy with God and your bible. If you wait until later in the day, your study will never get done. I know from experience…though now my girls are age 9 and 12.

      • Kellie Vincent says:

That is such a wonderful idea. You’re right at the end of the day the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen :) Thanks for sharing.

      • Muz says:

I totally agree! This school year, I’ve been choosing to get up before the crack of dawn just so I can have my coffee with Papa-God, Bible, journal, and trusty pen. In my profession (teaching), the last thing I want to do is show up to face sixth and seventh graders without having spent time getting fortified!

        • Christine says:

I have a 7th grade daughter and one of the reasons I created this online study is for teachers. I noticed her teachers were unable to attend church small groups because of their busy schedules, yet they missed out on interaction with other Christian women. The teachers are surrounded by the next generation of Christian leaders, our children, and we need to bring the teachers into fellowship with other bible study women.

I believe there are four teachers in this study and I was just praying for them this morning.”Lord, please fill the heart and mind of this teacher, allow your Word to flow into (name)’s heart and into her classroom. In Jesus name, amen.”

      • Muz says:

I feel the same way. This school year (I teach), I’ve been choosing to get up before the crack of dawn just so that I can do exactly what you described . . . coffee with Papa-God, and my Bible . . . the last thing I need to do on my job is show up without having spent time with Papa! (I teach 6th and 7th graders. ‘Nuff said!)

Hi Kellie, I am also a GA resident! I stopped watching BB10 when they booted “Brachel” (Brenden and Rachel), lol! Enjoy!

      • Kellie says:

Hi Ashlie. Brachel was something else huh? It has been a little dull since they’ve been gone. What part of GA are you from? We live in Dallas which is right outside of Atlanta.

  2. Lauren says:

Hey, all… I’m Lauren from Kentucky. I am working on the Jonah study and really enjoying it… although this week has been hard because I am a college professor and we are just getting started back to work. If I could be on any reality TV show, it would be the AMazing Race. It’s my “date night” with my hubby on Sunday nights… and it would be wonderful to be able to race around the world! Looking forward to studying how to live beyond me… I get a little too wrapped up in “me” and my imperfections, so I think this will be great to help me see how to let God shine through me! God bless!

    • Kellie Vincent says:

I love the date night idea about The Amazing Race – we both love that show (which is one of the few shows we agree on). Thanks for sharing!

  3. Jeanette says:

    Hey ladies

My name is Jeanette, I grew up in Waterloo, Ontario and moved to Hamilton for university. I’ve decided to stay here for now because I love it. I am a downtown girl, love being in community with people, I love writing, field hockey, dark chocolate and coffee among other things. I don’t really watch TV… but I love dancing so if I was actually talented I’d go on So You Think You Can Dance. :-)

  4. Victoria Milam says:

Hi! My name is Victoria, I grew up in the Panhandle of TX but have lived in AR for 6 years now. I am have been in Conway AR specifically for about 3 1/2 years now. And I LOVE it here! I work full time as a team assistant for the transportation and logistics team in our company-so, I sit at a desk and manage a bunch of lost men! lol

Reality TV Show that I would be on: What not to wear or something like that;free clothes and tips for style and such.
    OR
Amazing Race: would love the challenge and really getting to re-know my husband all over again through the experience. Would be awesome!

  5. Jacki says:

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jacki and I live in Fairfield, OH, which is a suburb of Cincinnati. I just completed the bible study on the book of Ruth. I loved every minute of it. It is hard for me to open up at times and write a comment. I enjoy reading everyone’s comments. It truly makes me realize that I am not alone and everyone has their own crosses that they are carrying.

I am not much for watching TV. I guess I would be a good candidate for What Not to Wear. At least that is what my twelve year old daughter would say.

I like to work on my bible study in the evening. I find myself excited to sit down with my bible and read the chapter for the day. It helps me to calm myself and feel a touch of peace at the end of a busy day.

    • Christine says:

You’re the third person to talk about the Amazing Race show. I’ve never seen it, my Mom loves it, and now I think its time to “tune-in.” One thing I like about reality TV is that it teaches the concept of failing forward. The reality TV actors make mistakes, show real emotion, face conflict and yet they continue to move forward. Real life equation: try, mistake, move on. While the show ends with just one winner, all the actors become famous for their participation and effort.

  6. Angie Blevins says:

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Angie Blevins from Wilmington, Delaware. This will be my first Beth Moore bible study and I am very excited. I just finished school and took my certification exam and passed! I was in school for Certified Pharmacy Tech. I currently am apart of World Prayr Ministries.

If you could be on any reality television show, which one would you be on and why? I would like to be on animal cops. I love animals and would love to help and get justice for abused animals.

  7. Whitney Kregar says:

Hello! My name is Whitney Kregar from a little town called Greensburg in Kansas. I am a recent graduate of Kansas State University and got married June 5th, so I am adjusting to LOTS of changes as a wife. I am just starting my job as a Campus Life director for Youth for Christ and I love it. My community has an older community of church goers so I am trying to use this study to involve younger ladies in the word of God and strengthening the next generation for Christ. I just finished Beth Moore’s first study and loved it. If I were to pick a reality show I would also have to be given some talent and flexibility that I lack…………but I love So You Think You Can Dance, though I know I cannot.
