Beth Moore Summer Bible Study III
Once again we are participating in the Beth Moore Siesta Summer Bible Study, which begins on June 22, 2010. This summer we are reading Ruth: Loss, Love & Legacy a 6-week women’s Bible study by Kelly Minter.
Beth recommends that you participate in a small group home study….so if that is not possible for you because of your family schedule, work commitment or location…then join us here in online study. We’ll be reading along with Beth Moore, visiting her blog for updates and video segments, and posting our comments as we discuss the book with one another.
You’ll see a blog post once a week, on Tuesday, to coordinate with the schedule Beth Moore has posted on her blog.
Before we begin, you’ll need to:
- Subscribe to this blog by email, so you’ll receive updates for the study.
- Order your workbook: Ruth: Loss, Love & Legacy by Kelly Minter. Last summer, the workbooks sold out due to the popularity of a Beth Moore study, so order early.
- Post an introduction below, telling us where you are located (city/state) and your blog or Twitter link.
- Just for fun, please tell us about your favorite summer meal.

My name is Christine and I live in Northern California, near San Francisco. You can follow me Twitter @LifeVerse and I blog here. My favorite summer meal is BBQ Teriyaki Chicken (my grandmother would soak this for 3 days), Spanish Fried Rice, and grandma’s macaroni salad. Her ice tea was the sweetest ever-a favorite summer meal that I’ve missed since my grandparents moved from the lake house. Maybe I’ll learn how to recreate this for my own kids!
My name is Meg and I live in Central Florida. I am a guidance counselor and mom of three boys. I am excited about summer time and can’t wait to dig into the Lord’s word. I am hoping to establish better spiritual habits that will not be pushed on the back burner when life gets school day hectic again. I am out of touch with technology so just figuring out how to comment here was a stretch.
My name is Susan. I’m not a blogger, But I love participating in the studies here on-line! My favorite summer meal – -my husbands pasta salad and most everything on the grill!
I am very excited about the summer Bible study, and have ordered the book! I am not sure anyone from my group of friends is up for this, so I am pleased to have discovered this site. My favorite summer food is chicken salad!

And what a great idea to have an online community! Thanks!!
My favorite summer meal is, “shrimp on the barbie” since I’ll be back in Australia!! Its actually gonna be winter there when I arrive in our summer, so I’ll have to have figure out a favorite winter meal. =)
Just ordered the book because I saw it mentioned on Beth Moore’s blog and then I came over here to see which study you were going to be doing this summer – yea, the same one!
My favorite summer meal is probably a grilled steak and baked potatoes…not very original but my whole family enjoys it!

Hello, my name is Misty. I am excited to be doing another Bible Study. I have never done one online before so it’ll be a new experience for me. I was saved when I was very young and for a long time, I had been hit and miss with my relationship with God. I am happy to say that I have since recommitted myself to actively pursuing a closer relationship with my Creator, and I am looking forward to interacting with a group of women who share my beliefs.
My favorite summer meal is BBQ ribs, fresh corn on the cob, baked beans, baked potato, and homemade strawberry ice cream or a big ole slice of watermelon….yum !! I am just a country gal from a small town in the mountains of North Carolina.
Loving the Priscilla Shirer study and very excited to participate in the upcoming Beth Moore study. I am so thankful that I found the Bible Cafe – it has been a great help to me in studying the Bible and understanding how my relationship with God should be. I live in Deer Park, Texas which is close to Houston and my favorite summer food would be grilled chicken and sausage, baked potato and any kind of grilled veggie. Fresh fruit and cool whip for dessert would just about top that off.

Good Evening everyone, I am Rachel’s mother and I live in the Seattle area. I am the Nana of Rachel’ three beautiful children. We are excited to be in a Bible study together. I was raised in a fundamental Christian home and as a child thought being a Christian was all about what one should not do. Praise the Lord as an adult I have learned my God loves me even though I am not perfect. And being a Christian is all about showing the world around me the love of Jesus. I may be the only example of Jesus in someones life. I look forward to reading your thoughts as we journey together through this Bible study. May the Lord Bless you today and tomorrow and until He returns.

Hello Everyone!
I’m Leah, from Owensboro, Ky. I’ve never done an online study before.
I lead a Women’s Bible study group and we usually do the Beth Moore studies.
Most recently we have done Breaking Free, the new one…which was AWESOME!
And this past Friday we finished up one by Priscilla Shirer.
I look forward to this one. Keeping focused on God’s Word throughout the summer break is difficult for me. By staying in the Word though a Bible study, I feel closer to God, and on track.
I’m so glad I found this site. Off to look for the Ruth book this week!!
Many blessing to you all!
Hi, Leah. I’m also from Owensboro, KY. I’ve never done an online study before and don’t really know how to get started. Hopefully by the time June 22 rolls around, I will have figured it out!!

Eventually we’ll include a blog-talk format, however it will not be available for the summer study, only future studies.

Favorite summer meal – anything anyone else cooks!!! steak, hamburgers on the grill, my cold cucumber/avocado soup, and a constant supply of iced tea.
