I have the NIV for church & bible study. I have ADD & if I don’t have the one that my pastor uses I get lost easily & spend the time looking for “key words’ to find my place.
I have a NLT “God Sightings” One Year Bible…I really like it. I also have a purse size bible in ESV.
I kind of like having different versions to read verses:-)

I use a large print NIV also…It’s not Life Application but I’ve always heard nothing but good things about the Life Application Bible. I also like the King James Version—that’s what my former Pastor always used so I got real accustomed to it but if you are just getting back into Bible study I think the NIV works better–that’s what I started with. I also like the Amplified Bible just because it expands the verses with more descriptive words.

I’ve been satisfied with my Large Print, NIV Life Application Bible from Zondervan. My Sister recommend it to me and it’s worked well for me. In Bible studies, most authors are using NIV. At church, my pastor uses NKJV. Since the Large print Bible is too heavy for church, I carry a small thinline Bible that fits into my purse-and I can barely read the words!

For fun….take a favorite scripture verse and translate it at http://BibeGateway.com to see how the different versions will print the same verse.

Do any other women in the group have recommendations?

I’m just starting the study and returning to chucrh after a 15 yr absence. I’m looking for a life application study bible for women but there are so many to choose from. Any suggestions?

I have started to do a personal study with the books of Psalms and Proverbs, and I have found them more interesting than ever. I have not gone far, but I trust God to see me through to complete them and do likewise with other books of the bible. Any other person interested? God bless you.
