More of His Glory-Seminar Four (Day 5)

butterflyIt’s the final lesson of Pursuing More of Jesus with Anne Graham Lotz as we end a four week study of spiritual development.

During this study we’ve found a passion for Christ and instilled our hearts cry to know him more. We’ve had thoughtful discussions and meaningful time with God.

Congratulations to everyone who persevered and completed the study, and to those who are still finishing their workbook. You’ll have about a month before we start the Breaking Free study with Beth Moore- we’ll start when the books become available. Until then, you’ll see a few more posts and some comments as we review this study and prepare for the next.

Today’s Scripture Verse

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” John 17:24-26

Prayer Requests

Father God, you’ve shared your glory through your son Jesus Christ, whom you loved before the creation of the world. You made him known to us and shared your love with us. We are truly blessed to be followers of Christ and to call ourselves Christians. Amen.

Christine, I am so glad I “stumbled” on this study! Althought I thought we would be live in chatrooms, I find that this has worked well with our various schedules. I just wonder if people are able to know there are replies to their comments, even if made days later, without looking back….is there a way to do such? Is there a way to do chat rooms? Is that anything people would want?
Also, I have usually always kept my study books, but find that this book was more or less a journal, and felt I learned more from our inputs with each other than the book. So, am not inclined to keep for review later. Am excited to be doing a more structured study book in future. Ann did get us to delve in and question for ourselves, though and that is not necessarily a “bad thing”, but for learners it helps to have more teacher input in the written, as well as the video. Plus, I found it hard to keep track when there were so many errors in the book and what we were following, even though I printed it out. If we were to do another by her, I would hope the book to be more accurate to the study, and perhaps with more of her input in the book as well. i also found that i wasn’t even using it at the end…
But, enough criticism! I think we all persevered, learned, and grew, through your leadership and direction! and through Ann’s lectures, and format, even though we weren’t wild about it. Oh, yes, and the HOLY SPIRIT’s guidance!!!
So am glad God lead us here!!! Great way to use internet!!! God bless and see you all in next study!

This is a bittersweet end for me. I am sad that this study is ending, but yet I am glad to move on from the Pursuing More of Jesus book. I enjoyed this study immensely, but honestly, the book was difficult for me. Toward the end of the study I stopped using the book altogether and just focused on the scriptures and the reading. I had a hard time answering the “What does God’s word say?” and “What does God’s word mean?” questions. My getting frustrated was preventing me from being open to the study and receptive to the message, so I decided to remove the frustration and just focus on the Word. It worked out much better for me and I am pleased that I did it that way.

Since I have just recently rededicated my life to Christ, I still have many questions about God and what I am called to do. I know I need to spend more time with God and strengthen my relationship with him. I have learned to be patient with myself and with God, and to just listen with my heart most of all.

I just want to express my sincere thanks to Christine and all of the women who participated in this study. I am so blessed to be among such a godly group of women. Thank you for letting me be a part of this amazing experience. I’m looking forward to the next study. I’ll be back!! :)
