BibleCafeBlavatarWelcome back to the Bible Cafe! Grab your favorite coffee, tea, lemonade or just cold water and join us in this online study.

We’re at the end of week two and we’ve learned about our fruit and roots. I live near several wineries and everywhere I go, I see fully grown vines ready to bear fruit. The root is the key to a productive vineyard. Jennifer Rothschild explains the link between the roots (faulty assumptions) and fruit (our thoughts) and how to clean up our vineyard.

Group Discussion

What fruits did God reveal to you during this study of “Me, Myself and Lies?”

Today’s Verses

See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:15

Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Matthew 7:17-18

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24

Do not plant two kinds of seed in your vineyard; if you do, not only the crops you plant but also the fruit of the vineyard will be defiled. Deut 22:9

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. Psalm 128:3

Hi all, I have been praying for you and following along. I just haven’t had much to say yet. This study has been great but it hasn’t “hooked” me yet…hasn’t hit me deeply where it needs to yet…but I know it is coming!

I did want to let Lanie know that I am especially praying for her mom. I am the director of a locl nonprofit group specifically for ovarian cancer patients and families in our city, and I feel much empathy for what you are going through. Love you all, siestas!
